Suffield, CT. (January 3, 2018) — With architectural imagery by Heather Conley Photography, Anne Penniman Associates received an Honor Award from the Connecticut chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (CTASLA).
The awards were presented at the industry group’s holiday party on Dec. 13, 2017, in New Haven.
The CTASLA recognized Anne Penniman Associates’ work on a project on Mason’s Island (Mystic, CT), in the category of “Engaging the Native Landscape.” The coastal property was designed with native plantings, locally sourced stone and natural elements that give the site a restful, simple yet sophisticated feel.
Heather Conley of Heather Conley Photography was able to capture the unique character of the property, showing the contrast of the finely crafted granite wall against low-maintenance native grasses and wildflowers.
“Big congratulations on this win to Anne and the team at APA,” said Conley. “The intention and focused effort on the finer details in materials and meadow plantings throughout this unique property produced very successful results for their client. Obviously, the CTASLA judges agreed.”
The CTASLA conducts the annual awards competition to showcase excellence in areas of landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication and research.
